Teen photography sessions are specifically designed for young teens + tweens between the ages of 11-14 years old. This is the very last stage of childhood before they cross over the threshold into adulthood. These are the years in the middle that are filled with fun, curiosity, and limitless creativity. As a teen mom and professional photographer, I believe that these young teens deserve to be celebrated and have their stories told.
Teens + tweens change so fast in these years and when we blink they will be gone. Soon they will move on to adult lives and adult responsibilities. That is where the concept of these sessions was born . . . a special session just for teens. A session to capture the essence of who they are and what makes them unique. A session to celebrate the transition to high school or middle school.
A high school bound session is an exclusive teen photography experience for 8th-grade teens. These sessions feature your teen and up to four friends. Your teen is encouraged to bring their personality to the session. Have fun with fashion and accessories. The more creative your teen is, the more it allows me to capture the essence of what makes them unique.
A middle school bound session is an exclusive photography experience for 5th graders. These tweens are on the cusp of their teen years and should be celebrated too. Middle school bound sessions are a shorter version of the high school bound sessions. The session is designed to celebrate your 5th grader and up to two of their friends.
High school bound sessions and middle school bound sessions are held on select dates + times in February - May of your teen's 8th-grade year (or tween's 5th-grade year for middle school bounds sessions). The events will be held at designated urban locations in the Dallas area.
My favorite part of the photography session was that Mrs. Shelly made it really fun with music and it just felt like I was hanging out with my friends. She was also very encouraging and I could see how much she loves taking pictures.
I liked how Mrs. Shelly would ask us questions to loosen us up and make us more natural in front of the camera. She played our favorite music. It was fun to let us hang out, laughing and having fun being together. We could interact with each other and she was there to document the day with pictures. I treasure the friendship and bonds I have with this great group of girls.
My favorite part taking photos with Mrs. Shelly was that I discovered how fun it was to model and pose for her when typically I don’t like to have my photo taken.
